SHAKARA: PAYING TRIBUTE
TO THE ROOTS OF SUGARCANE
The name SHAKARA comes from the Sanskrit word shakar, which honors the long history of sugar cane cultivation in the Mainland Southeast Asian region since the Neolithic Era.

SHAKARA is a dynamic initiation to the world of aged rums from Thailand, a terroir that holds many hidden gems.
THAILAND : A UNIQUE
PROVENANCE
Thailand is one of the largest growers of sugar cane in the world along with Brazil, India and China.

SHAKARA is produced and aged in the central province of Nakhon Pathom. It is a fertile region with a tropical climate that greatly enhances the concentration of flavors in the rum during its long aging process.
A LONG AGING PROCESS
The long aging process of SHAKARA lasts for 12 years and takes place in the tropical climate of Thailand. Aged in ex-Bourbon cask, the combination of high average temperatures and a humidity level between 60% and 80% concentrate the flavors of the rum. The results are a rich and deep palate leading into a long and complex finish, due to a very high angels’ share compared with rums aged in continental climates.
BOTTLING
SHAKARA is bottled at 45.7% abv with no coloring, sugar, additives or artifice
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Refined and heady. Nutty aromas of almonds and walnut appear alongside elegant fragrances of honey and toffee. Allowed to breathe, lovely apricot notes highlight its

character.

PALATE

Fresh and lively. The dynamic attack wavers between flavors of cane sugar, tropical fruits of mango, papaya and fresh figs. Salted butter caramel shines with the
perfectly integrated wood.

FINISH

Long and silky. The spicy finish quickly develops notes of fresh vanilla bean and mahogany wood.
The finish ends with floral tones of evening jasmine, hyacinth and lingering incense.
